Competition for water

With a given and perhaps diminishing water supply, competition for water is inevitable.

The State of Idaho asked Collaborative Processes to assess and then facilitate a long term planning process for the Rathdrum Prairie aquifer/Spokane River.

Water Collaboration is a project which seeks to improve the nature, quality and frequency of the use of collaborative processes in water related projects or conflicts. It is a project of Collaborative Processes LLC, a Colorado based organization that seeks to improve dialogue among parties/stakeholders in business, environmental, natural resource and public policy matters and disputes. We provide facilitation and mediation of water matters.

Collaboration is more critical in water disputes because the stakeholders are usually connected by the hydrologic system as well as the systems used for the administration of water. They experience the same droughts and floods, and deal with the same federal, state and local agencies.
